The Â鶹´«Ã½AV’s principle strategy, Transforming Bedfordshire, commits to promoting sustainability. Specifically, its Education and Student Experience Strategy sets out the commitment to:

“..Students will be actively engaged in real-world challenges, working with the community, employers and researchers to define challenges and collaboratively problem solve to enable students and the Â鶹´«Ã½AV to contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.â€

Through the Â鶹´«Ã½AV's sustainable initiatives, including the implementation of the Â鶹´«Ã½AV Business School’s membership of the UN Principle of Responsible Management and the Curriculum Framework Review 2023, we aim to:

“…strengthen the emphasis on inclusivity, employability, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and well-being.â€

This is achieved through:

  • Bedfordshire’s Curriculum Framework: A Curriculum for the Real World

  • Availability of an interactive , that provides ideas to embed the UN SDGs for enhancement and new course design (see final pages).

  • An audit process is underway during AY23-24 to map existing provisions and provide baseline data on the extent to which the UN SDGs are embedded.

Our priorities and approaches also reflect HE sector best practices and are further; supported by the Academy for Learning & Teaching Excellence; informed by the curriculum framework, Student Experience Strategy and Sustainability Strategy [PDF]; and shaped by the creativity of academics and students from the Sustainability Forum.
