The Â鶹´«Ã½AV has announced that Vice Chancellor Professor Rebecca Bunting will retire in December after six years leading the Â鶹´«Ã½AV and 11 years serving as a Vice Chancellor.

Earlier this summer, Professor Bunting informed Simon Yun-Farmbrough, Chair of the Board of Governors, of her intention to step down at the end of the year.

Professor Bunting said: “After six years at the Â鶹´«Ã½AV, and 11 as a Vice Chancellor, it is the right time for me personally, and the right time for the Â鶹´«Ã½AV, as it embarks on developing a new strategy to take it through the next five years and beyond. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to lead the Â鶹´«Ã½AV and to work with so many talented colleagues.â€

The Board of Governors is in the process of appointing an executive search firm to lead the recruitment of the next Vice Chancellor.

Simon Yun-Farmbrough, Chair of the Board of Governors, said: “Professor Bunting has provided outstanding leadership during a period of significant change for the Â鶹´«Ã½AV. We are grateful for her contribution, and we wish her every happiness in her retirement.â€

The Â鶹´«Ã½AV will make further announcements about the appointment process for her successor in due course.
