Academic Scholarship -Terms and Conditions
- Academic Scholarship recipients will receive a total of £900. UK students will receive a combination of cash/goods and Â鶹´«Ã½AV Aspire credit and can also be applied as a tuition fee/halls of residence discount. EU students will need to contact SAB@beds.ac.uk for more information on their payment plan.
- Applicants may hold a sports scholarship and UCMK Bursary plus one from Access Bursary, Bedfordshire Excellence Scholarship, or Academic Scholarship.
- For UK students, this scholarship is inclusive of the welcome package which will constitute the first instalment, to find out about subsequent payment options please see the payment details section.
- Applicants who are eligible for the enhanced welcome package will receive the additional payment of £150 Aspire credit on top of this scholarship.
- Applicants will be awarded the most valuable scholarship that they are eligible for.
- Scholarships will be awarded only to students who are fully registered at the Â鶹´«Ã½AV for the 2015/16 academic year.
- Prior to registration the Â鶹´«Ã½AV will contact applicants using the email address provided by their UCAS application. To change this address please contact UCAS.
- Once registered the Â鶹´«Ã½AV will also contact the student using the Â鶹´«Ã½AV student email account. It is the student's responsibility to check this account regularly for important information regarding the payment of their scholarship.
- Successful scholars must maintain an appropriate standard of behaviour throughout their course of study at the Â鶹´«Ã½AV. If a recipient does not meet the appropriate standard of behaviour and the scholarship is withdrawn from that individual it will not be offered to another student from that cohort.
- Scholars may be required on occasion to represent the student body and assist the Â鶹´«Ã½AV to publicise its activities and work with the Â鶹´«Ã½AV in promoting its successes and seeking other financial support.
- Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend Â鶹´«Ã½AV events promoting the value of scholarships and are expected to attend. The Â鶹´«Ã½AV may decide to publicise the names of those who receive scholarships or advise a specific donor of the successful recipients of a particular award.
- The Â鶹´«Ã½AV reserves the right to withhold payment of the scholarship if scholarship holders withdraw, interrupt, not attend or otherwise do not progress satisfactorily with their studies.
- Scholarship holders must remain in good financial standing with the Â鶹´«Ã½AV.
- The Â鶹´«Ã½AV may also seek to reclaim monies paid where progress is not satisfactory.
