Where an inquiry is being made for legal reasons, a Section 29 form on headed paper is required with the documents and request. Please send these to SID@beds.ac.uk

Verification for third parties (such as employers, agencies and embassies)

Third party enquirers such as employers, agencies and embassies must verify attendance and awards from our university with Prospects Hedd. A Hedd verification confirms the candidate’s name, qualification type, course name, year of award, classification obtained and dates of attendance. Please visit to register.

There is a small charge for each enquiry and you must provide the written consent of the individual. To prevent delays, please enter the candidate’s details as they appear on their degree certificate. Where possible, verification are automatic however complex enquiries are checked and completed by the university’s Student Information Desk team. The due date will be listed on your enquiry.

The Â鶹´«Ã½AV was established in August 2006 by order of the Privy Council, following the merger between the Â鶹´«Ã½AV of Luton and De Montfort Â鶹´«Ã½AV’s Bedford campus.

The change of title reflects the merger of the former Â鶹´«Ã½AV of Luton with the Bedford campus of De Montfort Â鶹´«Ã½AV on 1 August 2006. The new name was approved by the Queen, acting on the advice of the Privy Council following an intensive period of consultation.

The Â鶹´«Ã½AV is the legal successor to the Â鶹´«Ã½AV of Luton, and its awards have the same standing. Â鶹´«Ã½AV of Luton awards therefore remain, and will continue to remain, valid.
